Serving Our Community

Powhatan Christmas Mother

The Powhatan Christmas Mother program brings our community together each year to support local families and children during the holiday season. I was deeply honored to serve as the 2023 Powhatan Christmas Mother, embracing the theme, "A Village of Blessings," which reflected the generosity, compassion, and unity that define our community.

Today, I continue to support this cherished organization with gratitude and pride, helping carry forward its mission of spreading hope, kindness, and joy throughout the Christmas season.

Cinderella Dreams

For the past seven years, I have had the privilege of serving as a volunteer "Fairy Godmother" with Cinderella Dreams, a Midlothian nonprofit that helps local high school students attend prom with confidence by providing dresses, shoes, jewelry, and accessories at little to no cost.

Each student receives a personalized shopping experience, and it is incredibly rewarding to help young women find a dress that makes them feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated. Seeing their excitement and renewed self-confidence is a reminder of how meaningful even small acts of kindness can be.

Powhatan Mentor Lunch Buddy Program

I am proud to serve as a mentor through the Powhatan Mentor Lunch Buddy Program with Powhatan County Public Schools. This opportunity allows me to spend time with local students by offering encouragement, meaningful conversation, and a dependable presence during the school day. Building positive relationships with young people and watching them grow has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my volunteer work.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church

I have been a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Powhatan, Virginia, since the 1970s. Throughout the years, the church has been a cornerstone of my faith and community. I am honored to volunteer with both the Altar Guild and the St. Luke's Historical Society, helping care for our church while preserving its rich history for future generations.
